Privacy policy
There are no accounts, no forms, and no advertising here. The figures you type into a calculator stay in your browser. The site does use Google Analytics to count visits, and this page explains exactly what that means.
What the calculators do with your numbers
Every calculation runs in JavaScript on your own device. The figures you enter are never transmitted to HYSA Calculator, never stored on a server, and never logged. Close the tab and they are gone.
When you use "Copy link to this result", your inputs are written into the address bar as a query string so the link can be shared. Those values are deliberately stripped out of the page address before anything is reported to Google Analytics, so the amounts you type are not passed on. If you choose to send the link to someone, they will of course see the numbers in it.
Cookies
Google Analytics sets two cookies, named _ga and _ga_ZJ9FYJZGLB.
They hold a randomly generated identifier so that two page views from the same browser can be
counted as one visit. They contain no name, no email address, and nothing you typed into a
calculator.
Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland are excluded from those cookies. Analytics runs there in a cookieless mode that counts the visit and stores nothing on the device. That is why this site has no consent banner: there is nothing to consent to in the regions where consent would be required.
No other cookies are set. The site has no advertising, no remarketing, and no social media widgets.
Analytics
This site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages people find useful and which calculators get used. It records things like the page you viewed, the site or search engine you arrived from, your approximate location, and your device and browser type.
Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. Advertising features are switched off permanently through Google's consent settings, which means no data from this site feeds remarketing, advertising personalisation, or Google Signals.
If you would rather not be counted, any of these work: turn on your browser's tracking protection, use a content blocker, or install Google's official opt-out add-on. Nothing on this site is withheld from you for doing so.

Server logs
The site is hosted as static files on Cloudflare's network. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes standard request data such as IP address, user agent, and requested URL to deliver pages and protect against attacks. HYSA Calculator does not have access to identifiable logs and does not use this data. Cloudflare's own privacy documentation covers how it handles that information.
If you email contact@hysacalculator.us, we receive whatever you send, including your email address. It is used to reply to you and for nothing else. It is never sold, never added to a mailing list, and never shared with a third party. There is no newsletter to be subscribed to.
Third-party content
Google Analytics is the only third-party script on the site. There are no embedded videos, no social media widgets, no comment systems, no ad networks, and no fonts loaded from an external server. Pages link out to sources such as the FDIC and the IRS. Following those links takes you to sites with their own policies, which are not covered by this one.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone. If you believe a child has been counted in the analytics and you want that removed, email us and we will remove it.
Your rights
Residents of California, and of other US states with comparable privacy laws, have rights to know what personal information is collected about them, to have it deleted, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. Visitors from the European Economic Area and the UK have equivalent rights under the GDPR.
Nothing collected here is sold or shared with anyone for advertising, and there is no identifiable profile to hand over, because the site holds no accounts and stores no submissions. The analytics identifier lives in a cookie on your own device, so clearing your browser's site data deletes it. For requests that concern the data Google holds, use Google's opt-out add-on or the controls in your Google account.
If you have emailed us and want that correspondence deleted, ask and it will be.
Changes to this policy
If the site starts doing anything else that affects your privacy, this page will be updated and the effective date at the top will change. Material changes will be described rather than quietly folded in.
